The first song! We start the musical in Troy inside the wooden horse where Odysseus is getting his men ready for the attack tomorrow. Later, during the attack, Odysseus gets hit by an invisible opponent who he learns is Zeus. Zeus orders him to kill an infant Astyanax, son of Hector (prince of Troy), who is destined to enact vengeance on Odysseu's family in the future. Ody begs him to not make him do this, and Zeus tells him that either he kill the baby, or the future blood of his family will be on his hands.

Fun facts and fandom jokes:

• In the beginning, there's a faint clock ticking noise (one of Athena's motifs) to show that Athena is watching them
• Athena is protecting them from being heard by the Trojans (so they don't hear chanting in the horse of strange men hyping themselves up for battle lmao)
• The last line ("The blood on your hands is something you can't lose. All you can choose is whose") was originally sung by Athena in a cut song called This is the Way
• During the Ithaca livestream (the first full playthrough of the musical during the last saga's release where the cast acted out the songs in a silly manner), Jorge held a white joycon in his hand to represent the infant. White joycons = infant in the fandom.

My opinions and cool lines:

• The second song I discovered and still one of my favourites!
• The part starting with "Diomedes will lead the charge" is so cool!
• The last part is also HELLA COOL "The blood on your hands is something you can't lose. All you can choose is whose"

Arguably one of the best songs in the musical. It's basically 2 minutes and 29 seconds of Ody contemplating the philosophy of man versus monster (main theme of the musical!) then choosing his family and killing the baby.

Fun facts and fandom jokes:

• The nylon guitar is the main instrument in this song. Odysseus's instrument in the musical is the guitar, with a nylon guitar representing man/kindness and an electric guitar representing monster/ruthlessness to reflect his arc.
• Odysseus throws Astyanax off the balcony to kill him. People find this really funny. (sad singing) "I'm just a man" ... YEET
• There's a cut song where Perimedes (one of Ody's crewmates) sings happilly "Give me that baby and I'd yeet it off a tower!"
• Ithaca stream funny moments: "I look into your eyes" Mico dramatically turns to stare at Jorge. "I'm just a man" throws Mico across the room.
• In a video from Jorge he talks about the misheard lyric of "when does a cabbage become a meteor?"

My opinions and cool lines:

• One of my favourite songs! It's so soft
• "Deep down I would trade the world to see my son and wife" (becomes an even better line after you've listened to the whole musical)
